Researching is WAY more fun (and interesting!) with laptops! We borrowed the MooMobile from the Media Center (it has 16 "COWs" - Computers On Wheels - for classrooms to use!) to do a little research using a PowerPoint and Internet-based WebQuest. We realized that sometimes information doesn't just leap off the screen (or page) at us... you actually have to (gasp!) READ to find the information you're looking for! :) We've been working diligently to locate information on the following Native American groups: the Kwakiutl, Nez Perce, Pawnee, Hopi, Seminole, and Inuit. We've discovered a lot of fascinating facts... and we're not done yet!
Our First Adventure with our New First Grade Buddies! 10/8/10
We will be buddying up with Mrs. Lynn's first grade class this year, and on Friday, Oct. 8, we enjoyed our first buddy adventure... subtraction bowling! Mrs. Lynn's first graders are learning about subtraction and how to write subtraction number sentences, so we went bowling with them to help them learn about writing subtraction sentences! If you have 10 pins, and knock down 4, you have 6 pins left! (10-4=6) We had a great time meeting and learning with our new buddies!
Ecosystem Posters! 10/7, 10/8, 10/11, 10/12, 10/13... and more to come!
